ADAT optical vs TOSLINK optical (vs COAX)

Is the quality of a TOSLINK signal connection the same as a litepipe ADAT signal. I've heard that TOSLINK is another form of SPDIF which is a consumer level signal. Also, what is the quality of a coax SPDIF compared to optical TOSLINK?

TOSLINK-- is the technology/connector invented by Toshiba.

lightpipe is Alesis taking existing tech and modifying it for the ADAT (8 channels)

SPDIF can use coax or toslink. same protocol, different delivery methods.
