Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
Focusrite Clarett 4PRE maybe? Those red boxes work very well with any DAW. Of course the concept of "inexpensive" may vary so better just drop a budget here so people can perhaps find you better solutions.

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
One possiblity within that price range could also be buying a 2-pre interface such as Focusrite Clarett 2PRE which has ADAT and then add 8 more preamps with cheap ADAT box.
The reason I try to "sell" you Focusrite is they seem to work so seamlessly with DAW's.

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
Oh, missed that part. Surely that ADAT box should go to checked bag

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
HI, i may be slightly off track here but i am struggling to work out how to post a new thread. I need some advice on the best audio interface to purchase. I am using PT 12.5 , Windows 10 and currently, the M-Audio M-Track plus. It does the job but i get a loud 'Hum' from it. This does not transfer to my recordings but it is annoying when monitoring playback. I am in the market for a replacement and i have been looking at the Focusrite 2i2. Can anyone throw some feedback my please, Cheers, GJM

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
Generally speaking Focusrites work very well with PT but you would be much more satisfied with Clarett than Scarlett, if you can afford it.

Re: inexpensive usb interface with 4 mic pre?
I'm a fan of Presonus interfaces. The Studio USB series are below $500.
Studio-68c Or the Studio-1810c if you want all the pres on the front of the interface. |
