Default monitor screen and cpu

just a general begginer question. Iam using my westinghouse 32" HD TV as my monitor screen, its been great because i can see closer in,,so i dont have to mess with zooming etc..all the time with editing...so,, Its hooked up to my computers via VGA cable. do monitor screens in this case use more cpu power? does using a big screen tv as the monitor effect anything else in the negative?,,,should i just go back to my original monitor screen that came with my computer....if this is not a good idea, in terms of cpu, sound quality etc....

Nope; I have to realize most run dual monitors & some run up to 4 monitors... So ur fine although I would change from the VGA to either HDMI or @ least component but thatz just preference...

What OS do you have? More current OSes usually accelerate everything on the GPU itself now so CPU should be to a minimum if not untouched. If you have at least Vista or Leopard you should be fine.
