how can I store sessions on HD to clear aoudio drive? (IDE-int. 60G HD/ 40G audio)
The HD has abot 19G being used, the audio drive has about 30G of sessions. I would like move the sessions (I may not ever need to get to them) to the HD in a folder but do not know how.
Any info would be appreciated. |

Open the Hard Drive and hit command/N to create a New folder. Just start typing the name for the new folder--or click on the name to highlight it and start typeing.
Then just drag the session drive on to the new folder icon and it will auto/copy the contents. Then just delete the session HD or initialize it with Drive Setup.

If you may never use them again but not sure, back them up onto a CD (Toast) as data files if you have one. Then just dump the files left on your HD to the trash. Just check your burned CD to make sure it took before you dump.
If you want to use the files in the future just drag them back onto your hard drive.

Guitates - your suggestion is the same as mine, but look at the sums - he's got 30Gb to put into an 18Gb space! You know what'll happen - the Mac will start to copy, and after the twenty minutes it'll take it, it'll turn around and say "not enough space to complete operation".
TCN, do as Guitates suggests, but work out which projects you're going to archive and how big they are (highlight icon, Apple>I for Get Info). Then do some sums and highlight only about 17Gb worth of projects (it's a bad idea to completely fill a drive) and drag them over to your other drive. |
