Default Opening DP track in PT

Someone has a session in Performer and wants me to work on it in Pro Tools.
How do I go about this?
Thanks,
Pete

Latest version of Digital Perfomer can output an OMF, that DigiTranslator can bring into ProTools

So I just ask the guy for the hard drive and there's an OMF file..Then I run digitranslator and that's it?
Thanks,

There's not going to be an OMF file unless it has been specifically output. However, DP does include OMF output as a standard part of the program, so it should be no problem to request it.

Pro Tools, on the other hand requires that you have Digitranslator to open the OMF. If you have an older version of Pro Tools, there was an OMF tool included that allowed you to open an OMF but not save one. I believe this was 16 bit only, so it may not do you any good. You will most likely need Digitranslator to open the DP OMF output.

If you don't have digitranslator, it may be easiest to consolidate the tracks in DP and import them into a new Pro Tools session at the pre-determined start point.
