003R PT9 9.0.2 Buffer/Driver questions...
I’ve been running an Avid qualified ASUS N71JQ with PT9.0.2
Haven’t had any real issues so far but I noticed recently when I got back down tracking that I can only work at 128 to 256 buffer settings when it’s connected via FW to the 003R. Anything lower and it’s a garbled, crackly mess. I hadn’t noticed this prior as I have been editing and tweaking mostly just through the laptop sound card with ASIO4ALL. I am using an OWC USB2 drive with an SIIG express card with a TI chipset which are both also qualified. I’ve done all the WIN7 tweaks, FW Hotfixes etc. It’s not the USB2 drive as I can pull from that w/o the 003R and the system smokes at 64 buffer settings. I am thinking I may need to reinstall the 003R drivers and see if that will clear it up… I am running the newest version drivers for 9.0.2, did that when I installed the update from 9.0.1. I have run through all the FW drivers in WIN7 also, legacy included, and none make a noticeable difference. What it the proper way to reinstall the drivers? I was going to just uninstall and then reinstall but I remember the order with 9.0 to install drivers 1st. I don’t want to create any unnecessary issues inadvertently. Also, for those who are running the 003R what buffer performances you are seeing? I can post a Sandra report later if needed, just looking for the driver reinstall order for now. I can do a full reinstall of PT if needed but I'd like to avoid that if possible. |

Re: 003R PT9 9.0.2 Buffer/Driver questions...
Downloading the 9.0.2 full installer, thinking maybe to just do a reinstall and see if that resolves it...
Has anybody reinstalled just the drivers or if not the correct order to uninstall PT9 so I can run the full 9.0.2 installer? I am really wanting to avoid causing any further issues and to keep it simple if possible. A clean OS install is pretty much out of the question. |
