Default Mbox 2 Pro & Garageband

I'd like to configure my MacBook Pro 2.4, OS 10.5.7, Mbo 2 Pro to run PTLE8 & GarageBand independently of each other. Is there a way to do so without a driver conflict?

I've tried to find existing links to no avail.

Yes, just be sure that you don't have Digi HW selected in Garageband's Audio/MIDI Preferences and that the Core Audio Manager is not running when trying to use Pro Tools.

So when GarageBand is running do not choose the Mbox 2 Pro from the audio/midi preferences even though that's the device that I'd be using?

Sorry, my mistake - I thought you were talking about having them each use different hardware. If you want to have Pro Tools and GB use the MBox 2 Pro simultaneously, you should select the MB2P in Garagebands Audio preferences.

Make sure that both Pro Tools and GB are set to the same sample rate, to reduce the chance of clicks/pops, etc.

Sorry, I meant being able to run the Mbox 2 Pro with Pro Tools 8.03, then using the same Mbox 2 Pro to run GarageBand separately.
