Default S6 V2.2 Software Release and New Post Module

Avid is pleased to announce the release of S6 Software version 2.2 for the S6. This software release delivers many new features for S6 users.

• New Post Module - With this sound mixing/monitoring option for all S6 systems, you can switch between recorded tracks/stems and their inputs and punch into record. It offers two rows of 10 PEC/DIRECT paddles, each with solo and mute buttons and an OLED to view track/stem names. Spill stems onto adjacent paddles for individual control. Create Soft Keys to perform tasks instantly. Switch between monitors and dim, cut, or fold down your mix. And with VCA support on the paddles, you can control over 200 tracks with ease.

• V2.2 Software
o New Virtual Layout Sizes
o Inserting and Deleting Tracks in Layouts
o Sum and Intercancel Modes for Monitor Switches
o Banking from the Fader Module
o Locking Strips
o Changing Display Module Views from the Surface
o New Default Soft Keys
o New System Soft Keys
o Support for Multiple EUCON Commands in Soft Key Assignments
o Automatic Naming of New Soft Keys
o Many Additional Enhancements

* Some features currently require Pro Tools 12.5.2 and or an S6 M40 system with Display Modules. See http://www.avid.com/products/avid-S6 for more information.

How Can I Get 2.2?

In order to receive the 2.2 software update in your Avid account you will need your S6 console to be on a current Avid Support Plan. Your console came with 1 year of Avid Advantage ExpertPlus support with Hardware Coverage so please check your support plan expiration date. There are several options for renewing coverage (even if your plan has recently expired). If you are a registered owner, you will receive an email with details or you can contact Avid directly to hear about your options at : 1-650-218-4058
Click the link Products Not Yet Downloaded Yet in your MyAvid account.

Are virtual layouts coming to the Avid S3 in the future then Eddie? That would be fantastic.

Many thanks,

I'm guessing Eddie meant 12.5.1?

Looks like 12.5.2 just got stealth released. You can't even download 12.5.1 from the Avid site anymore.

Is anyone seeing S6 V2.2 in their accounts yet? It's not in mine, checked both registered products and products not yet downloaded. I have a current support plan.

Anyone else got it yet?

PT 12.5.2 will be out tomorrow (bug fixes for Post module) 12.5.1 works OK

It takes a while to propagate the servers so you will all see it soon. Remember to check the Products not downloaded yet link in MyAvid accounts.
