Have you tried Googling this? You'd get a faster answer. You'll find very few people here using free sampler plugins. Sampling sounds and playing them are two completely different things. Most samplers don't actually sample; all they do is help to fit your sounds into a format that works with their engine, scales things up and down the keyboard, etc. And the quality of the sample playback engine is very important or else you'll get all kinds of nasty artifacts like the dreaded Chipmunk effect, unwanted vibrato changes, etc.

That being sad there are some good sampler playing/tweaking programs out there - Kontakt 5 is one but it's not cheap. Whatever you get has to run in 32 bit RTAS.

So basically you sample sounds in Pro tools and use the sampler software to mapping them to you midi keyboard.

- Kontakt
- Structure Free or Structure
- Transfuser

You can use others samplers, but according to me those 3 are the best to accomplish your goal.

but i think purchasing an Akai Renaissance is the way to go.
