Default Need help with my 192io

Hi. I have a 192io with 2 analog cards and 1 digital card. I'm looking and getting 2 asp880s to get rid of my mixing board and upgrade to better pre's. My question is how can I, if at all, can I connect those two pre's and get 16 channels at 96k? Is it possible or do I need another expansion interface?

you say 2 analog cards, I'm going to assume that on in an AD card and the other is a DA card
if you want 16 analog inputs you will need another AD card, the rub being they are hard to find these days (No, the HD I/O cards will not work)
so it might be easier to get another 192 than just the AD card for the 192 you have

P.S. welcome to the forum

Thanks, I should clarify. Two analog input cards. One analog output card and a digital io card. Being the the asp880 are digital pre's, Im assuming I have to connect them thru the optical. I can get 16 channels if I do that but to get 96k I have to run 2 optical outs one each asp into the 192......?i think I just confused myself....

StopThere is a big wrench in these gears. #1-the 192 does not handle SMUX for 8 channels at 96K on the optical input. You need to use the AES or TDIF input. #2-if that covers one asp880, I would pull your analog input card and add a second digital card(they sell pretty cheap). That would still leave you an analog OUTPUT card to feed monitors and phones.(but all this depends on whether the asp880 has a TDIF or AES output)
