I have a question for you guys.. I really do need to upgrade. Right now I am on Pro Tools 11 in Yosemite 10.10.2, if I upgrade to High Sierra 10.13.5, which is my ONLY option, will that wipe out all my installs from Yosemite? Will I have to reinstall everything if I upgrade?

With this significant an upgrade, I have learned to install from scratch. I believe Sierra introduced AFP, so you may have to think through that choice. If you create an image/backup you can recover from it, then try the update method, (deleting all pro tools cache and preferences, etc....) and see if it works, most of the time it has worked for me, however I was not skipping versions. I don’t believe I had reinstalled from sierra to high Sierra.

Won't have to reinstall. Your installs aren't wiped.
Still a good idea to check and upgrade installs for any hardware drivers (like audio cards)

If you've ever downloaded other macOS versions (even if you haven't installed) in your Apple App Store account, you can still get to those mac versions. Or if you have a friend with the install image. I now make it a point to "update" every macOS version but then don't run the installer so I can get the macOS version when/if it gets qualified by Avid.

High Sierra (not Sierra) introduced/forced APFS on users. All flash/SSD drives will automatically be converted to APFS during the install of High Sierra.

Only drive I have that’s SSD is my drive that has my OS and program installs. My samples and sessions are all on external HD’s. Everything backed up on Backblaze. Except the samples drive. It kept self ejecting..

So will this APFS effect my installs? What is AFPS anyway?

High Sierra will convert your macOS hard drive to APFS format. APFS is a file system type.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_File_System

It won't affect your installs -- your installs will continue to work. However, if you need to go back, you will need wipe your hard drive and put it back to Mac OS Extended format. So make a copy of your boot drive before doing the update to High Sierra.
