Transferred files between 5.1.1- 5.3.1,gives error
I transferred my files from an old 9600/300 running PT 5.1.1 and OS 9.0.4 onto my friends's external hard drive. The 9600 has firewire, but for some reason it wouldn't support my hard drive, but it would support my friend's. I then took my friends hd. and took it to a G4 with 0S 9.2.2 with 5.3.1 because that would recognize my hd. After copying all of the files I then tried to open the projects on my hd. and I get this error "THIS VERSION OF PRO TOOLS CAN ONLY RUN ON OS X". I have never even crossed the path of OS X or 6.1 . This is very strange to me. Please help!

Hello,
Are you double clicking the session document or launching Pro Tools and then opening the session? Try launching Pro Tools and make sure other sessions open OK and then go to File > Open Session and see if the session will open. Even Pro Tools 6.1 sessions will open in OS 9 on any version of Pro Tools 5.1 and up. Also, try opening the session off of a known working drive on that system. All Firewire drives should be formatted by Apples Erase Disk from the Special menu in OS 9. Mike |
