Default Setting up Eleven Rack with S/PDIF and RME Fireface

Hi !

I'm searching for the more stable settings between me 11R and my RME Fireface 400.

After a lot of tests my 11 is set as "Internal" (=Master) and Fireface as "AutoSync" (=Slave)
Both at 44.1kHz.

I have to be careful, I must start the Fireface first, and then the 11, if I don't, the Fireface turns to 48kHz (Default 11 setting, right ?)

Is there a better way ? How do you set yours ?

Thanks :)

I don't know if it is better, but I set my Presonus interface as the master and the 11R as the slave and it seems to work just fine. I do this because I typically always have my Presonus on in the studio and don't always have the 11R on. This way when I do turn it on, it syncs and is ready to go.

What he said.

Plus, the RME is probably a better quality clock, so you may have improved results doing it that way.

Yep that's what I would like to do but when I restart my computer my RME is sometimes set at 48kHz...

There's probably something I do wrong because each time I start my computer in the morning it's different, sometimes the 11 is back at 48, sometimes it's at 44.1 (And Master) but the RME starts at 48kHz etc...

It seems better if I start the Slave first, and then the Master. I will keep it like that a few days and see how it works.

Do it changes something when you start Slave or Master first or is it just in my home ? lol

Thanks !
