Default Digi 001 and Rosetta AD

I want to go into the Rosetta AD with a mic and preamp and I'm not sure what the best way to send the digital data to the Digi 001.

SPDIF? Optical? XLR?

Furthermore, what can't of changes do I have to make in my set-up when I decide which way to go?

appreciate any help out there, mike
