Can't play only selected audio: Blue Markers!

I don't know how or why, but now I am unable to select a region in the edit window and play/bounce only that region. There are some blue arrow markers up on the timeline bar (I don't know how they got there) and I can't get rid of them ~ the audio will bounce or play only where those blue arrows are located and continue for the whole session. I just want to be able to play/bounce just the selected audio regions again... Help!! Thank you.
