\"Illegal instruction\" in thread \"Main Thread\"
I have just installed PT 7.3.1 and when I try to open a session I get: "Illegal instruction" in thread "Main Thread" , at address 0xbfffd950.
Also the message: Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/vb_cliff/AlturaPorts/DFW/Macbuild/../Views/UMenu.MacOS.cpp" line 922 The second message repeats itself over and over when I click "OK". Please help me figure this out. I am in a session with a studio of impatient musicians! Thanks, L7 |

Re: \"Illegal instruction\" in thread \"Main Thread\"
I´ve just installed PT 7.3.1 and get almost the same instruction when i try to start Pro Tools:
"Segmentation fault" in thread "MainThread", at adress 0xbfffd910. The same second message that also repeats itself; Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/vb_cliff/AlturaPorts/DFW/Macbuild/../Views/UMenu.MacOS.cpp" line 922 I´ve trashed all pref.files, deleted all DigidesignDatabases, but no luck... Thought it had something with the Mojo SDI to do, so i removed all the Video-enginefiles but the only thing that happened was that Protools crashed without instructions.. Any idea? \"Segmentation fault\" in thread \"Main Thread\"
I have almost the same pb, sometimes when I open a session (but not when starting ProTools) or do some tasks with plugins, I get the message
"Segmentation fault" in thread "MainThread", at address 0xbfffde90 or "Segmentation fault" in thread "MainThread", at address 0xbfffdd50 ... But I don't have the assertion problem next. It appeared since I installed 7.3.1 version and I have the same problem with 2 computers. Both are Dual G5 PPC with Avid Mojo, one with HD3 Accel, the other with HD3 Process. It seems to be a current problem as I'm not alone to get this message. Any idea? |

Re: "Illegal instruction" in thread "Main Thread"
I also get this: "illegal instruction" in thread "Main thread", at address 0xbfffd7b0 message when trying to open RTAS plug ins.
Pro Tools crash after this message and I have to reopen PT. Could it be because of the new RAM I just bought? I've used Pro Tools for many years. It is the first time I get this message. |

Re: "Illegal instruction" in thread "Main Thread"
I think maybe it is because of the Trilogy and the Atmosphere. They cause Pro Tools crash (after PT 8 upgrade). I have just installed Trillian and Omnisphere.
Everything seems fine now! I wait until next error before I go further with this. Thank you for fast responding. |
