I need help please!!!!

i installed pro tools 7 and am using firewire 410. I am unable to get any sound from the system.

I am able to record, but i can't get any sound on the playback or hear anything as i record.

sound from my guitar is reaching the firewire 410 and I can see that it is being picked up by my pc because the levels rise as i strum my guitar and record. But no sound comes through my speakers.

My speakers are properly set up as i can listen to discs on my pc and hear general PC alerts.

I have adjusted the levels on the M-audio control panel and they should be fine. When I play back, the level bars show activity, but no sound comes through.

Anyone have any ideas?

Check your fader and make sure it is up. Via the mixer or the fader icon in the track screen.

Thanks for the help. I tried your suggestion. But it did not work. The fader levels are high. I play back and it shows that it is playing at high levels, but nothing comes through the speakers.

Any other suggestions? I am really getting fed up with this system.

make sure your tracks/channels have the correct outputs assigned to them.
Check your I/O dialog and make sure the prefereces are set. PT should automatically
setup all the 410's I/O right from the first go.
