Pro Tools is constantly crashing! :-(
My pro tools is constantly crashing :-(
When the session is running the arrange area with all the samples goes completely black at times, others it becomes filled with the vid for a sec The last error code said this:- Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000010 others its been CVDisplay Does anyone have any ideas? I have a web series episode that needs to be finished in the next 2 days so its ready for the official release date! Thx for ya time! :-D |

Information imparted seems to be directly proportional to information provided, and in this case, sorry to say, there is NONE. MAC? PC? Exactly WHAT version of 10? System info? Anything????

What third party plugins do you have? Any demo plugins? Have you tried standard troubleshooting steps like moving third party plugins to the unused plugins folder with PT shut down, restarting and see how that goes? Then you gradually add back in plugins, testing as you go.
Have you done the optimizations needed? You know things like turning off any power saving 'features' like sleep? Is PT recording to a separate drive? Are you running anything else while trying to work in PT? What specific Mac are you running? Do keep in mind when asking for help there is never TMI (too much info) that can be given. Back and forth like this just wastes time. |

Ah sorry musicman691 i understand
I think i've diagnosed the problem area now which will narrow it down loads If i run that session and completely delete the vid track then it works flawlessly so it is definitely something to do with the video I updated quicktime before and that didn't help, nor did downloading new codecs :-/ This is the same problem i had here --> http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=367857 and it seems the fix i did then was a plaster over a would rather than curing the problem itself same as with now where just deleting the vid from the session has stopped the crashes :-/ On the point of info about my system etc i do have that written in my About Me page here but ill make it my sig too so its allways on my posts same as you guys have
