Default Artist Control Won't Power On

Hi All,

I just purchased a used Artist Control, worked great when I was testing it out, but got it home and it won't power on. I got it to function once, but then shut it off and won't start up again.

I've read a lot about the L7 & L8 chips possibly being the issue; so I opened it up to see what was going on, and it doesn't look like my board has the L7.
But I do have an L8 that *possibly* could be the problem. (see attachment).

So, I'm looking for a bit of advice here. I'm ok to change out that chip on my own, but I'm not sure if it's the same one as was mentioned in the other thread a few years back.

Would be curious to know the solution as I've had it happen a handful of times. I've taken mine to Advanced Musical Electronics for repair. They say it's something with the onboard power, but not the power supply. That brings up another question, have you tried another power supply by chance?

Yup; I’ve tried two different supplies, same results.
There’s no question it’s an internal supply issue; I’m just confused by the lack of an L7 chip.
