Default Best ram for Windows PT system

Hi, have just upgraded to Windows 7 64 with PT 10.

I was previously using PT8 with Win XP and 3GB of Geil DDR2 800 Ram.

That 3 GB of ram now seems un stable and i'm thinking of upgrading to 8GB.

Can anyone recommend any good DDR2 800 Ram?

What's best by the motherboard is best for Pro Tools.

Agreed. And the mobo company will likely have choices from all the major RAM makers(Giel, Crucial, Kingston, Mushkin, Corsair, G. Skill, etc). Consider whether your mobo can handle dual or triple channel and buy the appropriate kit(triple channel would always be 3 or 6 sticks, dual channel will always be in pairs of 2 and make sure all sticks are exact matches(same part number). Note that sometimes, using the AUTO setting for RAM(in BIOS) can slow things down, so you may need to set timings manually(run a Dverb2 test with the AUTO setting and see how the system does. If it kicks butt, then you should be a happy camper) Now, having said all that, don't spend a boatload of cash on this as DDR2 800 is getting long in the tooth and likely will not work on your next build
