midi instrument won't record

Hello people, i've just experienced a problem with instrument track. Can't record anything on it. It shows signal on channel strip, I can hear it, record enable it, record the track, but when i try to play it back there is nothing recorded on it. It is Boom plugin. Any suggestions?

axiom pro 49, latest firmware, everything else seems to work ok with this controller, knobs, sliders etc.

So your instrument track is set up to your axiom pro as your main midi controller is your channel assigned correctly ??are you using all channels??

When you record are you or do you see midi notes being laid down as you play

yes channel is set to out 1-2, thats all im using. when i record i dont see blocks/notes being layed down, but i can hear sounds from monitors being played.

It seems to work after few restarts, however it works only for inputing single notes, i can't record a drum pattern assigned to a midi key. And additionally eleven rack is not visible in inserts or i/o. i can play rigs, hear it, but nothing records. what a day

For the keyboard - are you using USB for the MIDI or going into the MIDI ports on the 11R? If you can, go in direct to the iMac with a USB connection for the controller. Use the onboard audio just for now. That will at least tell you if the keyboard is working or not.

Can you power the keyboard via an external power supply instead of USB? Give that a try - this again is assuming you're using USB for the MIDI connection. And if using USB for the MIDI now - try a different USB port and even a different USB cable.

Are you filtering out any MIDI messages like note ons and offs? That would explain why the knobs and such work but you get no note recording on the instrument track.

you mentioned that eleven rack is not visible in your i/o's have you checked your pro-tools set up tab and make sure eleven rack is selected as your hard ware interface and that it is also set up as the playback engine ?

If eleven rack is not listed as an option

check your macs sys preffs/audio and you should see eleven rack their in your in io's. If eleven rack is not listed there the eleven rack drivers need to be installed. Hope this helps
