Pro Tools HDX2 working on new Mac Pro

I wonder this too, but the thing is that it won’t run unless there is power to the fan, so short of jamming the fan with some chewing gum, I have no idea how to solve that :) Perhaps we could transform the power down to, say 7v to get the fan to spin slower and then with less noise? How bad is the noise in this new whisper quiet computer, btw? I can hear it over the “roar” of my mighty 2012 twelvecore.

I have the exact cable posted above. Could anyone confirm that they got it working using that cable? How??

That's depressing and that alone will make me NOT invest in an HDX system. Thanks for saving me the money.

The HDX card fan runs almost silent in the new Mac Pro.
It is undetectable compared to how it used to run in the expansion chassis.
They really sorted out the airflow in the nMP, I guess the HDX card fan only spins when required and that seems to be pretty minimal.

That is great news! Now I just need to find out how to connect the power - using the above posted cable...

There is one connector that works. It’s towards the top, and needs to be installed prior to sliding cards in. Both on my HDX cards are towards the top.

I had to call Avid support to fix a iOS issue with seeing the cards.
I also had to update firmware thru Avid’s digitest of the cards. I have never seen that before. I am having issues with some plugs not loading. I’ll post on that later.

Agree they should say something but until the HDX cards and Mac Pro 7.1 are supported we all know that wont happen
