Hey everyone, I just want to chime in again. We're well aware that TCE is very well respected especially among dialog editors. Not only from this thread, but from talking with editors individually.

It's tough to be more transparent about things like this what with the whole "forward-looking statements" thing. I'll let you know when I can provide any more info on this, but rest assured that we are listening.

If you are aware, why did you decide to kick it out of 11? Or did you become aware after the release?

I just responded to this on another thread, but like everyone else, we have limited time and resources, so we have to have priorities and make choices. Those priorities and choices are definitely informed as we have a very passionate group of beta testers and user groups that we collect feedback from.

So given all people who posted here that they do need TCE - exactly how informed has the decision been to leave it out of the release?

+1

By all means, please bring back TC/E. Never would have imagined a critical tool like this being left out of the PT11 release!

Why doesn't anybody get it?

TCE Trim Tool has not been removed!!!!!

From the Pro Tools 11 Reference guide, p. 517:
Quote:
On audio tracks without Elastic Audio enabled, the Time Compression/Expansion Trim tool works by using the Time Compression/Expansion (TCE) AudioSuite plug-in selected in the Pro Tools Processing preferences to create a new audio file.

You can select which AudioSuite plug-in is used for trimming with the TCE Trim tool on non-Elastic Audio-enabled audio tracks.
Currently, only Avid's Time Shift AS plug-in is compatible with PT11. Give it a few weeks or months for the other brands to catch up.

In the meantime, this is exactly why PT10 co-installs with PT11...

What you don't seem to get is, there used to be an AS plugin called Time Compression Expansion, which is discontinued with 11, and that's what this whole thread is about.

Hello. Although I don't believe in any one tool, plug in, software, DAW, etc to ever be a 100% dealbreaker, this in my opinion may get as close as anything ever could.

There simply is nothing better, easier, faster, more transparent for dialogue than Digidesign TC/E.

Bring it back as soon as humanly possible, please

True.
Well, I just hope you'll bring it back in soon. Can we get as much as a general "will happen" without a time frame?
