HD Windows upgrade... sorry out of time!

So end of June sees the Windows for HD being released (did anyone notice? Hardly a big fanfare was it?) and so today I ring to get the upgrade (we are a Windows only studio) to be told that the upgrade offer finished 3 days ago. About 2 working days after the update announcement was posted!

Given that the official reply from Digi concerning this was "we have extended the Pro Tools|HD Hardware Exchange Introductory Pricing for customers that meet the criteria from June 30, 2002 to August 31, 2002.", perhaps someone should tell the dealers!

Keep in mind that this is a DUC, for USERS to communicate with each other, not a pipeline to anyone at the company. If you call the company's pre-support number, which I have found to have short wait times and courteous people who are knowledgeable (about sales issues, configurations, etc.), I bet they would mail you one of these.

That said, perhaps I can help a bit. I received one of the flyers by regular mail, and have some of the info typed out below, as I understand it (check with them, I might have made errors). By comparing these to the regular and more complete exchange list on their website, you can get an idea of what to expect. I think the offer is good until Aug. 31, 2002. There are restrictions (date of ownership/transfer, maybe others).

those prices sound like the Special offer for Mac users that just expired.

I live in the UK, and have got nothing through the post yet. It can take days to get a phone call through to the UK digi office - I think it's understaffed or something, you just get through to voicemail usually

They are. I've done a bit more digging and the bottom line does seem to be that the prices are the same and that registered windows users will be give to the end of Aug to upgrade.

I haven't got anything mailed yet.

Still not heard back from the dealers.

In fairness, when you do get through to Digi, they are great, but it takes an age. UK office almost always closed or busy.
