PT 2018 vs. PT Ultimate - What is the difference?

I've researched, to a degree, but not managed to work out what the difference is between PT 2018 and PT Ultimate, could someone enlighten me?

The main reason I ask, is that I will be using a legacy controller (Control 24) via V-Control Pro, however V-Control Pro does not mention PT Ultimate, only PT 11, 12 and 2018.

Ultimately I am trying to establish if I will be able to use my Control 24, via V-Control Pro, with PT Ultimate...?

You're kind of confusing version numbers with name branding.

11, 12, 2018... That's the versions. After 12, around March of 2018 they changed their versioning system to based on the year and month of release, aka: 2018.3, with 2018.12 being the latest version released last month.

Ultimate is just the new branding for HD, which is the Pro version that works with HDX cards, and Native interfaces, has more voices, auxes and track counts, supports multiple video tracks, etc.
