The fader caps loosen over time. At least mine did. Why not just get a new set of fader caps?
Glueing them on though? If you use enough glue to stop them coming off I'd be worried about the second hand value being affected. If you bend the metal the fader cap slots on to you're going to have trouble getting the fader caps perfectly square unless you bend them all by exactly the same amount.

Happy to report that I found some copper tape at the electronics store, taped up the faders and replaced caps- working great, cost all of 2 dollars.
