Default Need help setting up my Mic.

Hey guys,

I been trying to use my M-Audio Producer with Pro Tools and I have my headphones plugged into the headphone jack that's on the M-Audio and my M-Audio is plugged in the USB port, but when I go to play my sample beat on Pro Tools, it'll play through my laptop but it won't play through my headphones and I can't record anything on the M-Audio. Everything else seems to be working other than Pro Tools. Is there a specific way that I'm supposed to set it all up on Pro Tools?
I just got Pro Tools yesterday and it's a whole new thing I'm trying to learn.

Someone told me that if it there isn't a drop down panel in the Sound Engine to select the type of mic I have plugged in, then it MAY be the driver I'm using for Pro Tools. I been using ASIO4ALL driver, is there a better driver that I could use that will be better and actually work?

I would appreciate the help.

I would un-install ASIO4ALL and go here to download producer driver;
http://www.m-audio.com/support/drivers
Make relevant choices and click the 'Show details' button. The appropriate driver will become accessible to download.

(Assuming you're on Win7 or 8) Install the drivers with the Maudio switched off then reboot with it switched on.

Open Pro Tools and go to Setup>Playback Engine and make sure Maudio is selected as playback engine.

Then (again in Pro Tools) go to Setup>I/O Setup. In the Input, Output Tabs click default>ok. This step shouldn't be necessary (but often is), it won't hurt to do it anyway.

Now it should be just a matter of selecting appropriate I/O's on your audio track (if you don't know how to do this read the manual).

Click record button on track and you should get signal.

Thanks buddy, now I stumbled on another problem.
I did all that you said, but now when I choose my I/O on the track for Interface there is HD Microphone 2 1 (mono) and In 2 (Mono), and the output there is Headphone/Speakers 1-2 (stereo) -> Headphones/Speakers 1-2. I tried all of them but I'm still not getting signal when I record. I tried everything to get signal but nothings working. There has to be something I'm doing wrong. Any help?

I didn't uninstall ASIO4ALL because I uninstalled it the first time to install the the right driver I needed in the link you sent me. After I did that I tried start up Pro Tools and it showed that error where the hardware wasn't available or whatever. So I installed ASIO4ALL ALONG with that driver installed on the site you sent me and Pro Tools started back up again and I went to Playback Engine and I saw the drop down where I can choose between ASIO4ALL and Producer. I chose Producer and I'm still having problems.

Hmmm, according to this article the mic won't work with Pro Tools;

"if I had a kid who was getting into home recording on a PC and using Session or GarageBand (though not ProTools—the mic won't work with it), the M-Audio Producer would be my choice for his or her first microphone."

Quoted from this article;
