Default What Is The Purpose of The AVID HD PCI Card?

Hi Everyone.

Can someone share why you would buy the Native PCI Card? I was told PT 12HD can be used with any non-Avid hardware/interface.

I plan to use 12HD on an Lynx Aurora 16 without the PT Card.

Thanks so much.

You have to have the card to use any Digilink enabled I/O. Without it, you'll be using your Lynx box in USB or TB mode.

So this means I can use PT HD without any Avid hardware? Someone mentioned that not all the features of PT HD will be available to me.

yes.

You'll have all the software features, but not will be limited to 48 channels of I/O and subject to whatever latencies are present using USB or TB.

Also, I don't think LLM will work without the card. Checking on that.

And people are having issues with Lynx and Pro Tools. Do a search.
