Default Allocating RAM

I just topped up the RAM in my G4/350 to 256. I realize I have to allocate the extra to both DAE and Pro Tools but I'm wondering which one needs it the most and how much RAM i should leave unused. Does anybody have optimum settings for RAM, Disk cache, etc.?
