Default HELP-External Clock Invalid, Reverting To Internal

HELP!

I have recently upgraded from a 001 to a 002 Rack, and I am having some issues with the SPDIF output of the 002 Rack. I am attempting to use outboard D>A converters, but cannot send and signal out of the 002. After checking all my connections, and looking at various dialog windows, that I cannot set the clock in Pro Tools to External (SPDIF). Has anyone had this problem, and is there any way I can correct it?
Thanks.

I had this problem once when converting a session from a friend's rig. Check your I/O Settings and make sure that the s/pdif is setup there.

Clockwork12782 ,

Welcome to our forum...
You don't need to, nor even should to set you PT clock to external when only sending out to an external DA converter.
Stay "internal" ( unless you have an AD or master sync generator in front of it), and your DA will receive clock embedded in the SPDIF.

happy tooling,
