Where is the Mac version of Trasher?
I could swear I saw a posting about a new utility for Mac users that handled trashing prefs and database files, but I can't seem to find it. Anyone have a link?

PT11 is a whole new software. No trashing required. That is a thing from the past... Really.

Quote:
I wrote the capability in for PT11 with my utility because it was easy to (it is a very simple utility!) though I was unsure as to whether it was needed but it has proved to be useful. I know for a fact several people have used it because they needed to rather than just for the hell of it. I have had to use it once myself - only once but that made it worth it. Not criticising 11, it feels like very well written software but sometimes it can crash leaving certain support files in an indeterminate state and clearing those files is easier and quicker than doing a clean un/reinstall. The main bore is that the drive catalog and the user catalogs are in the same SQLite file so if you need to clear the drive catalog you lose any user catalogs. From what I've seen that is one area Avid could look into. Anyway everyone is free to use it (or not), don't want any donations, not charging and I won't change that. If anyone feels compelled to donate (it has been asked) just put the money towards your favourite charity. It would be handy if the utility was made a sticky (without all this text!) as I've had to reply several times recently. http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=340741 Pete |
