Solo linked to the selection : Avid, do you hear me?

I checked the features of Studio One 4, Presonus. It offers a possibility that Cubase also offers: in French, it's the solo linked to the selection. That is, the selected track is automatically soloed. Extremely useful when you have to come and listen to clips on a lot of tracks. This saves thousands of Shift S.

To try and address the OP, if another DAW has a feature you need, and Pro Tools doesn't have it, there's nothing wrong with using the DAW that suits your needs

Or; use the Audition tool(F9) and swipe across the clip you want to hear

I like Pro Tools but I would like to add this feature. Before the gain clip, there was no gain clip. You were going on Cubase? Before the effects on the object, there was no such possibility. You were going on Samplitude? I have 50 examples like that. I imagine you were waiting without saying anything. I'm waiting by saying something.

ps. The Audition Tool, useful sometimes, is not comfortable on 40 tracks.

If you have Link Track and Edit Selection turned on, you can do something that is not quite that, but nearly as good


Just drag with the selector tool across the audio you want to hear and hit shift-s. It will solo that track.

If you're a quickey guy like me, its basically the same thing.

the whole solo/mute approach in PT is just so 80th and makes no sense ITB today. The options in PT are limited with the argument to imitate a real console 30 years ago.

In my opinion Pro Tools should offer and auto toggle between solo/mute as well. You still cannot solo a muted track. This is hilarious.
