Default pt9 overloads

hey everybody,
i recently purchased pt9 and mbp 13" dual core. all i am running is pt9 on it. i have a profire 2626 from m audio. and a g tech 7200rpm 1 tb ext. HD. just started recording the band this past weekend. not too much goin on. 3 drum mics, bass d.i. and mic'd up guitar cab. 5 tracks. count em, 5. recorded great. got good levels, and didnt have any probs. i did mixing without the profire. just running the pt agg i/o. i added eq and compression on bass and kick drum thats is. i get CPU overload telling me to remove plug ins. iv tried adjustin the playback device sample rate, plugin ram, playback ram. still locks up. do i need to have my profire plugged in? doesnt seem right to me. please tell me there is something im missing. i would be highly dissapointed if this is all the processing power i have. 5 tracks!!!!!!

10.6.6 is approved.

Do you have any old plug-ins installed?

the only plug ins i have are the ones that are packaged with pro tools, and the torq le and bfd lite free downloads. as far as the demo goes, not sure where it is saved. can't seem to find it. i remember listening to it before. prob got deleted. i got is to run a little bit smoother had three tracks withs about seven plug ins before prob. but im still moving in the wrong direction.
