Default OS X 10.2.3 wipes out authorizations on the OS 9 Drive???

I just upgraded my OS X to 10.2.3 - everything went fine.

But when I started up in 9.2 to use ProTools (MIX3) all my plugs were un-authorized!

Both systems reside on an unpartitioned Hard Drive. I've been able to switch back and forth and use ProTools in OS 9.2 with no problems until this 10.2.3 upgrade.

Anyone else have this problem? Or know WHY this happened?

On this website, go to Support>Compatibility>Pro Tools|24 MIX for Mac OS>Additional Computer Requirements: System Software.

Under Known Incompatibilities, it states:

"...you should not install OS X on the same partition or hard drive with Mac OS 9.x that you use as your startup drive for Pro Tools on pre-Quicksilver G4 models."

I would go further than this and say that you should do this on any Mac on which you have Pro Tools installed.

So that's the problem. The solution?

Complete re-install?

Try "Repair Disc Permissions" from the Hard disc Utility when your in OSX.

It happened to me too!

Two different partitions! :9.2.2 on one, 9.2.2 and OSX(10.2, Jaguar) on the other.

Even after repairing permissions! This is a maintenance routine for OSX only.

I had to re-link authorizations. Fine after that

I guess that Apple is maybe not aware of this or don't want to put money on this, because this problem exists since 10,1.

Jeff thanks for the heads up on this one!
I had no idea this could happen even with seperate partitions.
This will sure keep osX from being all it can be!
I have os 9.2.1 and Jag on different partitions do you guys know if this would still be a problem?
I'll have to wait until the end of the Month to use osX again, to much going on for this hassle!
thanks!

My advice would to install a seperate hard drive into your system and use that as a deicated OS 9.2.2 drive. You've already dropped a few grand on Pro Tools, an extra $70-$80 at a local computer store will save a bunch of headaches.

Is this the way that paying customers should be treated?
