Default Video Editing Bug

Ok so I realize that PT ISN'T designed to work as a video editor, however it does edit video differently that in PT10. Editing a video clip has very unexpected results. Simply creating an edit in a video clip causes the 2nd clip to not be continuous with the 1st.

No dragging or moving of either clips... just make an edit, and the clip is now not continuous.

Using H.264 is not advised. It is a supported codec, though it should be on the "use at your own risk" list, as the decode process is very CPU intensive and it's inter-frame nature makes it susceptible to odd behavior.

Thanks for the answer...I suspect that is mostly the problem... but my point is that this video file works differently in PT10 than it does in PT11. I can understand the file not working well in both, but can't understand why it works perfectly in one but not the other...

It must be a difference with the new Avid video engine in PT11. Whether that difference is on purpose or a bug I cannot say.

Again... Thanks.

I mainly wanted to let someone know of this behavior.

If this is a bug, it would be nice to have it fixed.

I brought this to the attention of the super-moderators.
