Yes, my new PC is so fast that I now "learned" how to record-enable several instrument tracks...in 2020.3

You have to use SHIFT on the keyboard + click on R on the different tracks...

Also video works without any issue...

Default Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results

Hey everyone, wanted to share on this thread for anyone interested in doing a budget i9 build.

The system has been solid for about 3 weeks. I had 1 strange but isolated sudden exit from PT11 but could not replicate the issue.

All optimizations done as per Avid recommendations.

I run a lot of VI's before committing to audio, mostly NI stuff / Komplete Kontrol, Stylus, Trillian etc. So far the system has proved to be wicked quick and stable. Hovering usually at 20 VI's with some processing before I start bouncing. Let me know if you have any questions!

What did you end up going with, the 9900 or 9900k? How's it working out for you? I've been considering the non-k version for power and heat reasons as well, and it looks like the performance hit should only be about 5-10%.

Amazing! Thank you for this incredibly helpful info. I am putting together a 10900x rig with the same X299X Designare 10G mobo. I'll be sure to disengage TB Security, one of the ethernet ports and bluetooth.

Hi your new PC sounds very cool, but I’m surprised you stuck with Win 10 Home especially as Win 10 Pro allows much more control over the dreaded windows updates using the Group Policy Editor.
