Default So what plugins will come as AAX, post info here.

Waves has said:

"Our pluginns will and do work with RTAS on AAX.

But does that mean there will be no card support from Waves, only CPU based plugins this time?

At this stage only CPU."

Bummer.

I'm relaying heavily on TC Electronic and Waves among others and it seems at least Waves is not "jumping" on it. Knowing how slow TC is they probably take 10 years to do anything.

Please post here the ones you know will be AAX!

My wonder is did Avid just give impact, maxim, reverb one, revibe, etc. a facelift and new GUI's or did they improve the "sound" as well.

According to Avid, 25 developers will be demoing AAX plugins at this AES show, and around 100 are signed on to develop AAX plugs. This is very real, people!

Eventide has someone at AES talking about AAX. They're launching with Omnipressor and the 2016 package

Softube @ AES - AAX Support They are showing their new TLA-100A and demoing AAX versions of all of their plugins.

They will have installers ready for download on November 1st.

Avid has now posted more info about AAX plug-in compatibility here.

Unfortunately, it looks like these Avid/Digidesign distributed TDM only plug-ins are going to be abandoned and not ported over to AAX format (it says they are not compatible, but I read it as they never will be compatible since the unknown ones are not listed. Also, Amp Farm was previously announced as EOL'd, and TC has previously EOL'd its TDM plugs such as TC Tools in the past):

Please note that the following TDM-only plug-ins are not AAX-compatible:

Dolby Surround Tools
Line 6 Amp Farm
Line 6 Echo Farm
TC Electronic TDM plug-ins
Waves PS22 Stereo Imager

Well, it is still possible that some of those plugs will be ported to AAX - maybe Avid specifically lists them here because they are TDM only plugs. The real question is why are these the only ones listed? There are a lot more TDM only plug-ins out there.

Are these the only plugs that the developer has either not committed to developing AAX or even specifically said that they wouldn't port to AAX? If so, the presence of the only TDM-only Waves plug-in on that list is concerning, especially seeing that Waves is not on their list of third party plug-in developers working on AAX.

I would not hold out any hope for Amp Farm, since Digidesign announced that it was being EOL'd about 3 years ago.

I wonder how many devs will charge for AAX updates. Even at $100 per plugin bundle update, that can get expensive FAST.
