Default TC Electronic Powercore compact and -9073 error

I recently upgraded to a G5 1.8ghz tower and version 7.1LE, prior I was running 7.0 on an Imac. I have 3 FW external drives that I use and I have noticed since the upgrade I have been getting this error quite a bit and it has to be the Powercore. I am not sure why, it ran without any issues on 7.0 with the imac.

I have done all the troubleshooting on this and am not quite sure what else to do.

Has anyone else had an issue with this?

Even after my Powercore compact is removed from the system completely this is still happening. I have done every troubleshoot related to this the I can think of and all my drives are qualified. I am really at a loss on this one, any help would be greatly appreciated.

This may be redundant, but have you turned journaling off for every one of your drives?

Well, I don't have journaling off, but Digi says that you should have journaling enabled now. I do have the spolight indexing turned off on these drives.

Do you have the drives chained? Have tried using the front firewire port? I have to say firewire issues are common on the G5s and your best bet may be to try a PCI firewire setup.

Really, I do have a FW PCI card that I just installed. I was trying to figure out if the card or Powercore were causing these issues. When both were removed the problem still occured. Do you think if I run everyting through the PCI card the issued should be resolved? That is one thing I have not tried.

I would give it a shot. I had 3 different G5s and always had issues with the firewire buss--they are all on the same buss. I had better luck with a firewire PCI card--it was one of the cards Digi approves in the Compato Docs. Again some people have the best luck with the front firewire port.

ADS Pyro PCI 64

I also use this one on my PC--they are both Digi approved.
