Default kings microphones? more like kings doucherophones

you beat me to the punch OP! I was just going to post about this garbage!

Dont you guys think that whatever you are going to achieve with this plugin can be achieved for free using existing plugins?

The sounds you are paying for with this plugin I am assuming will sound like a very crispy thin, flubby low end, unclear , semi distorted, talking on the telephone type of sound. would you agree?

To get this kings microphones "sounds", wouldnt you estimate that you can 'create' this sound by, decreasing the audio quality, eq-ing, useing tape sach plugins, recording your speakers output then reimporting, etc, etc?

I mean come on.. What a crock of garbage waves. Actually make that 2 crocks.

I would have more fun making my own audio sound antique rather than looking at some douche clone antiquated poop brown waves plugin.

out

You only get the 'Sarah Ferguson' model.....it quickly uses all your resources before you have to remove it from your plugin-in folder..

It seems like something that would be neat as a freebie or $20 special to get people into Waves. Maybe pay $20 to get a trial bundle and keep this one free or something.

It seems like something with a real niche market. Unless you're a film maker specializing in royal films or The Artist it doesn't really seem like it would get used for anything except maybe an effect here or there. I have Mercury, but I didn't even bother to download the demo of this. No need for it.

That being said, perhaps if you were remastering Elvis (The King), Michael Jackson (King of Pop), or tracking Kim Peterson (King Diamond) this is exactly what you have been waiting for.

My thought is that this will end up like GTR. They should give it away for a year and then charge.

I've done this kind of "futzing" for motion picture dialog. I checked out the plug-in and I think the carbon mike is one of the best telephone "sounds" in memory. It could be recreated with a bunch of work but time is money for most people doing this kind of stuff.

I remember an engineer having about a dozen telephone sounds saved as track presets in Nuendo. If one does not have that option then I get buying this to save time. Perhaps that guy (the Nuendo engineer) will get it if it sounds better than his track presets.

BTW, don't feel left out live sound engineers... The Ryan Seacrest endorsed television host plugin will be coming soon.

Nice to hear Nuendo has that capability! In Pro Tools you create a template of the various track setups you want access to and simply import them as session data.
