Default PT9 and SSD

I haven't found a simple answer to this question. I know the compatibility on the ProTools 9.0.6 System Requirements is officially not supporting SSD, but ProTools 10 does show SSD compatibility. I want an OWC Mercury EXTREME Pro 6 240GB SSD drive.

Anyone with a lot of experience running PT9 on SSD have any issues saying I shouldn't go for it? I've heard a few posts saying "no problems", but haven't seen many that say "I have problems".

I have an early 2011 MacbookPro 15" 2.0GHz Intel Core i7

Default Re: PT9 and SSD

it's all about the quality of the SSD
I'd go Samsung 840 or 850 over OWC, myself

And, since you're a Mac user, make sure you enable Trim. I am also a fan of the 840/850 Pro/EVO drives. Get the right drive, and it rocks. Get the wrong drive.............(learned the hard way). Also, run the optimizer software if you clone to the SSD. If you load from scratch, this should not be an issue(I cloned mine and at first was disappointed, but after running the software, I beez very happy)
