Default Bluetooth!!

Hello All. Quick question..

My MacPro 2013 is in my machine room.
Magic Mouse 2 is jumpy/lagging.

I can't move the Mac Pro.
Is there a bluetooth booster I can use make this work?
Even a Mac OSX Bluetooth Dongle?

Suggestions?

Thanks

Powered USB hub. You've got a cable chase already. Mouse will be better, and you'll have ports in the control room which I use constantly with client buss powered drives.

Yes, very silly fix I hacked on was to bring my bluetooth dongle closer to my mouse/trackpad by attaching it to a 10' usb cable off the usb ports on the mac.

Yes - drop the Bluetooth altogether along with that Apple rodent - they've never been all that stable to begin with. I have two of different vintages (one wired and one wireless) and they both were more a pain to use than anything else. Any mouse will work with a Mac and will also give you a true two (or more) buttons and scroll wheel.

Try a Logitech M500 with SteerMouse so you can set the buttons to do as you want.

At one of the AES conventions I received advice from an Avid engineer that has produced stable results for many years.

This applies to a Mac Pro 2010 but should work for the newer model.

He told me to remove the airport card from the machine (I also lost WiFi but would not use it anyway). I believe you can find out how to do it from a google search.

With a usb 2.0 bluetooth dongle connected to a USB extender (I now use a USB3 fiber optic cable connected to a powered hub, but it worked as well with a gefen cat5 usb extender) the bluetooth panel in system preferences works as usual but accesses the dongle instead of the internal bluetooth in the computer.
