An i5 is not a Xeon processor. (E5 is an old family of Xeon processors...)

“i5” is a near meaningless consumer marketing brand... it applies to old weak processors up to modern much better processors.

Current i5 are the minimal CPU requirement for Pro Tools 2020. But what you need depends entirely what you want to do/how many tracks, what plugins etc. if you want more useful advice describe what you are going and the exact Mac model and CPU specs.

And CPU hardware can be the easy part. With Macs especially, always pay attention to software compatibility: what MacOS versions does the Mac run... what Pro Tools versions run on that? And what interface drivers versions are supported on that OS as well. Pro Tools 12 will mean you cannot run on recent Macs with Catalina and later...
