Default Pro Tools 2019 + Catalina

We have a need to update our machines to Catalina (dev stuff), Pro Tools is a secondary thought for us (audio isn't our primary business) but it is affecting our decision making somewhat.

My question is has anybody tried Pro Tools with Catalina? I understand it is unsupported but we have managed with unsupported + buggy Pro Tools in the past.

What are your experiences with PT on this OS? How broken is it exactly?

Don't hold your breath meaning it took until 2019.5 to get Mojave compatibility and it didn't break so much stuff like Catalina is denying all 32bit processes. I'm pretty sure Avid will release one more 2019 but very likely Catalina support is not going to be included.

Default when will come Catalina Support

Any info about this?
I hope, after seeing HDX Hardware in the new Mac Pro 2019 on the WWDC, it will take not so long for Catalina compatibility...

If the past is any indication, it will take them a year at least. But who knows, it's all speculation. I wouldn't hold my breath, though. Avid is two train wrecks concerning this particular topic.

When will the update be for Catalina?
A pity for a large company, which is quite late

As soon as Avid announces it.

There should be an update coming this month, God willing, but so far nothing says Catalina support which means may not happen this year.

The AVE is the only part of Pro Tools which is currently incompatible. Avid are re-writing parts of the AVE for the next release, and so you could assume it will probably be supported on the next release.

However, it's not just Pro Tools support you need. 3rd party plugin developers need to announce support also. I would hope it might take as little as 18 months before everyone has sorted themselves out. But, looking back to when we switched to AAX, that took years to transition.

The major one I'm waiting for news on is Conformalizer which I assume will be completely rewritten. I know Justin is an extremely hard worker, so my bet is he's got something amazing up his sleeve.
