Default ILok Fails Upon Install - - Come on

New install Windows 7 . .

Installed ILok client rebooted
In stalled ILokk driver rebooted
Plugged ILok in, PC recognizes device and device is operational

Then using ILok's online services, sign into my account. Try and register the ILok . . and Bamo . . I get the "you must install the client and driver error"

Fix it ticket placed last night with ILok and nothing so far. This has been crappy way to start off a PS 10 installation.

What a drag.

Yeah same ?? as Tom what browser are you using but also I've had the problem on Windows 7 where I installed the software and the drivers from ilok that I got off their website but when I went in to look at the device manager it recognised it but it didn't have those ilock issued drivers
I had to go to the device manager and click on update driver and then it recognize it as an ilok dongle

It maybe worth it for you to check that out

Thanks guys . .

I am using the current version of Chrome. This is what ILok came back with:

Hello,

It sounds like you are using an unsupported browser. Please try from either Firefox 3.6 or 32-bit IE.

You can find Firefox 3.6 here: http://www.paceap.com/extensions/FirefoxSetup3.6.28.exe
You can find 32-bit IE by using the following path: C:/ProgramFiles(x86)/InternetExplorer/iexplore.exe

You might also try going to Device Manager, click on the iLok and select update driver. That will do an automatic update and bypass the traditional browser. Worth a try

This is what I thought when asking about your browser. I keep a 32-bit IE around just for ilok.

Yes - it's wierd, but I had to use 32 bit IE when I set up my HP laptop's Ilok too.

Following the Avid Windows 7 Optimization list cured all my ilok problems, which were many.

Default Re: ILok Fails Upon Install - - Come on Resolved

Tonight I installed a 3.x version of FireFox, left the previous Client/Driver install in place, logged into my ILok user account via FireFox and registered my ILok?

I was also able to add my PT lic to the ILok, without drama as well. .

Thank you for the assistance/responses. I am installing PT 10 tomorrow and I am hoping my ILok challenges are now behind me. (fingers crossed)

It would have been so much easier if they would have said not to use Chrome or we recommend you only use Firefox. On to the next hurdle.

Thank you
