Default DeClipping, Cleaning, Equalizing...

Dear All,

I was about to shell out a few $$$ to buy some DeClipping, Cleaning, Equalizing etc. PlugIns. Prior to typing in my credit card number, I decided to have some more research into available products. The results were frightening, as on the Windows side, there was about 10 times greater selection, all of it Free- or Shareware! Well, if I were looking for spreadsheet apps, this would be quite understandable, but audio...........

So I pulled back my AmExpress.

Are there maybe some good DeClipping, Cleaning, Equalizing freebies for OS X, which I have overseen?

Check out SoundSoap 2, SoundSoap Pro, and the Mastering Suite from Bias.

Here's a link: Bias-Inc

I think they are great. Anyone else back me up on this?

Good luck,
Jeff

Hi Jeff and thanks for the kind reply.

I tried SoundSopap some 3 years ago, and found out that for our classical stuff (string quartet) it is not fine enough.

Other BIAS stuff might be OK, but I find it pricey. We were trying to figure how many CDs we must sell to break even with equipment and production costs, and it appeared we must sell 75% of the print just to cover the costs. Also, some stores pay us back only after we come to collect in our kung-fu attire ;=)

Hope there is more understanding for our being stingy....

If you can find something suitable as a Mac VST, then you might consider running this via a FXpansion wrapper to convert VST plug-ins to the RTAS format. You'll have to buy this but it's not expensive and does rather increase your options.
