Cool Upgrade from Protools LE 8 to 9

I am wanting to know if there any discount options for upgrading from My Protools LE 8 to Protools 9. If so or if I just have to purchase 9 at full price - will 9 work with MBox 2 as an interface?

Yes, the MBox 2 will work as an interface. AVID has an LE 8 to v9 crossgrade.

I'm also thinking about getting more inputs to record into pro tools 9. Will it pick up all the channels from the Presonus Firestudio Project Recording Interface? Or how about the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40?
Is there a list of other preamps that 9 will work with?

Since some here are having troubles with the Presonus firewire interfaces, you might want to avoid that route for the moment. The Focusrite Saffire 56 looks to be a good choice, and a used 003 is still not a bad route to go(Avid/Digi hardware still has a slight edge in ease of integration for now). The serial number from the Mbox 2(assuming it has NOT been used for the cross-grade by a previous owner) is all you need to get the cross-grade price. Once again, how many IO do you want? Do you need a control surface? What's your budget? You never mentioned what platform you have. Macs can use a few things that a PC can't, like Apogee
