Could be - I don't know. I use it so rarely and haven't had any issues really. Just a quick Google search says Reason has been 64-bit since version 7. Maybe that was with older versions?

The 32/64 bit Reason thing is for Windows users as there's separate Reason programs for 32 bit and 64 bit. OSX users only have the one installer that does both 32 & 64 bit.

Humm looks like I misspoke in a previous post. And I think I figured out the OP's issues and it does not have to do with PT version. It's the Mac OS that is the problem
Apparently Reason 8 will only work with High Sierra and earlier but not Mojave or later .........
And only Reason Lite 11.1 works with Catalina
