HD Native 12.5.2 CPU Spikes
Hello all! I built a new Pro Tools PC running Windows 10 Pro a short time ago, and usually I'm able to go through the hardware recommendations threads and such and come up with a good stable system. This time, though, for whatever reason I'm going nuts trying to figure out what I've done wrong. I've done the Windows optimizations Avid recommends. I'm running a PCIe HD Native card.
The issue is, I'm getting severe CPU spikes. I created an 88.1kHz/24bit session with 24 audio tracks (only two of which have any audio on them yet) and can't play through an entire 3:30 song without getting error messages that Pro Tools is running out of CPU. I have tried removing plugs from the plug-ins folder thinking maybe I had a bad plug-in but that didn't resolve anything. I haven't tried removing EVERYTHING, but I pulled out everything that wasn't a stock Avid plug. I'm running a click in the session but removing it didn't help anything. Otherwise I have NO plug-ins in the session. I am using aux outs to send audio out to my mixer, but no plug-ins. Anyway, if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate it. As it stands my system is completely unusable. If I haven't provided enough information or if this is the sort of thing I should be pursuing through more official channels, please let me know. Thanks very much for any help! edited to add: I started out on 12.5, and updated to HD Native 12.5.2 hoping the update would fix this issue, but it remains. I have not tried installing any versions of Pro Tools older than 12.5 on this system. Should I? Re: HD Native 12.5.2 CPU Spikes
12.4 might be worth a try. 12.5.x seems to spike CPU more for me too.

Re: HD Native 12.5.2 CPU Spikes
I know this is not a Mac but I saw this yesterday about the Haswell CPU's
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/t...OS-X-Mavericks Down toward the bottom, it mentions Haswell issues with Avid and 3rd party setups

Re: HD Native 12.5.2 CPU Spikes
12.4 has been reasonably solid here.

Re: HD Native 12.5.2 CPU Spikes
I am getting a lot of work done on 12.5, but I am also seeing many -9173 errors. Commiting and/or freezing VI's and the click seem to make it better, but still not great. So far, none have caused a crash(I just hit Ok and continue on with my editing). Its only stalled on me once during a record pass. I have a full band tomorrow so that may be "interesting"(or may force me to reboot to my old system drive with 11.3 on it)
