I also still have an old G4 with OS9 and OS X 10.3.9 that I can test with as well. Haven’t fired it up for a few years, but last time I used it, worked great. Let me know what you find.

I’ve tried disks in Mojave 10.14.6 and they’ve all read and mounted fine! I wonder if there’s a default setting that’s blocking them in Catalina.

Kind of concerning because I don’t want to end up with many years of backups that are rendered unreadable!
