What do you mean by convert audio to MIDI? Pretty impossible to do automatically.

there are 2 programs that i'm lookin' at right now, INTELLISCORE and WIDI, that convert audio files (wav, mp3, etc) to midi files. i'm sure there's more out there which is why i'm lookin' for recommendations based on users' experience.

The process is called "pitch to midi" and there are a number of VST plugs/programs that are out there.
I have no experience with any of them and therefore have no idea what the state of the art is. Do a Google search and you'll find links to both plugs and discussions. Some reviews on KVR as well. |

It all depends on what you are "converting". A monophonic audio track? Drums?
If it is drums, you want Drumagog. For monophonic audio, Melodyne is capable, but the quality results may vary slightly depending on the source material.

Melodyne. Their "Direct-Note Access" technology is supposed to handle polyphonic material just like it does with monophonic. However, that technology is only available in a future product.
Otherwise, virtually impossible currently. (Even with the programs mentioned). My experience with "audio" to MIDI conversion software like that is definitely a major disappointment.
